Remembrances of the Heart

The burden of grief can be lighter when shared with others.

Please join us for our 16th annual "Remembrances of the Heart" service from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, February 17 at Coupeville United Methodist Church.

The event is a casual, non-denominational gathering to which everyone is invited. It will be followed by light refreshments.

This year's keynote speaker will be Rev. Charlotte Keyes, Chaplain at WhidbeyHealth Hospice Care. The program focuses on themes that inlcude, A Time for Gathering, A Time of Focus, A Time of Reflection, A Time of Remembering and A Time for Hope.

Remembrances of the Heart hopes to provide a time and place for you to honor and remember your loved ones, while you gather with others who have also had a loss within this past year. The program will be both informational and inspirational, and includes music, readings, reflections by staff members and a candlelight ritual to provide words of encouragement and comfort.

We will also create an opportunity for you to acknowledge his or her name on a paper heart we will provide. If you would like to bring a picture or memento in memory of your loved one, we will have a remembrance table set up during the time of gathering.

If you wish to attend, please RSVP to Allison Krizner at 360.321.1372 or email krizna@whidbeyhealth.org. Please leave a voicemail if she is out of the office. If you are unable to attend, but would still like your loved one's name acknowledged, please RSVP with that information.
