WhidbeyHealth Women's Care
James Bauer MD, FACOG

James Bauer, MD officially joined the WhidbeyHealth team in October 2017 after one year of lending his services as a locums tenens obstetrician and gynecologist.

Bauer graduated from the United States Air Force Academy and served for seven years as a military pilot and Flight Safety Officer. He exited the military to pursue a career in medicine after receiving his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati. During his senior year, he developed a strong interest in women’s health in a rural environment.

Dr. Bauer brings his unique experience and perspective to the WhidbeyHealth community with a combination of his work in minimal invasive gynecological surgery, women’s incontinence and as a clinical investigator in NIH funded women’s health process research.

“Healthcare is a conversation and not a pill or procedure,” says Bauer. "The practice of medicine must embody the essential elements of humanity and respect. The ability to shape the appropriate care and technology into a solution for the individual’s problems is the most challenging, and yet the most essential component of the art of medicine.”
