Childbirth Education

Childbirth Education will resume Sunday, June 28 for the all-day session from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the birthplace. The six-week class sessions will begin Monday, July 13.

Join WhidbeyHealth Family Birthplace clinical educators, Erin Martin, BSN, RNC and Hilde Mott, RN, BSN for the latest in Childbirth Education. 

The class meets in the OB Team Room at the WhidbeyHealth Family Birthplace at 101 N. Main Street in Coupeville. Due to the coronavirus restrictions, only one-day sessions on Saturdays are available at this time:

  • Preparation for labor and delivery including labor positions and partner coaching
  • Pain relief using non-medicated methods, as well as nitrous oxide and epidurals
  • Hydrotherapy (jetted tub) and birthing ball uses
  • Anesthesia during labor
  • Feeding your infant including breast and bottle feeding
  • Initial baby care and car seat requirements
  • A tour of the birthplace
  • Preparation for delivery and going home with baby

Cost: $85 per six-week session
