WhidbeyHealth is committed to continually informing our community about changes to the healthcare services provided at Whidbey island Public Hospital District and this joint press release provides and update about changes currently underway.
Over the past 36 years WhidbeyHealth Home Health Care has compassionately served thousands of patients across our island, a service we have been proud to provide to our community. In our continued efforts to improve our financial position and establish a sustainable model for the long-term financial health, WhidbeyHealth has made the decision to discontinue our Home Health Care services.
WhidbeyHealth has partnered with Eden Health, to ensure continuity of care for our Home Health Care patients. This partnership is valued greatly as Eden Health has offered to admit our current patients as well as hire our current employees to ensure continuity of care. WhidbeyHealth has great confidence in the partner we have selected. Eden Health has an exceptional reputation for quality care while promoting integrity, dedication, and empathy.
Eden Home Health has been providing Home Health care services in Island County, as well as other outlying counties in Washington for over 7 years. “We are committed to continuing to provide the highest level of quality care to the residents of Island County and look forward to the opportunity that this brings for our mutual patients and employee-owners,” said Brent Weil, President and CEO of EmpRes Healthcare, a 100% employee owned company offering Home Health, Hospice and Home Care in 8 states. “Our goal is to ‘keep healthcare local’ to ensure that each community is represented and strategies are implemented specifically to meet the needs of the residents in the communities that they are so honored to serve”, noted Mr. Weil.
The transition of care will take place on June 1, 2021.
