Longtime veterinarian Dr. Eric Anderson was the board’s choice in September 2016 to fill an open seat in District 5. Anderson is director and chief of staff of Best Friend’s Veterinary Center in Oak Harbor.
Anderson says his main thrust is to listen carefully to the community and to make changes that continue to improve healthcare for everyone. “The only thing constant in life is change, so we want to look forward to better and better improvement in healthcare,” he says. “We want to have more outreach to the community so that we can serve their healthcare needs as best we can.”
Anderson has four adult children, Michael, Jessica, Erica and Chris.
Dr. Anderson attended Coupeville High School and is an alumnus of Washington State University and is an adjunct professor at Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine. The Andersons live in Oak Harbor. The Anderson family has lived on Whidbey Island since 1912.
