At the WhidbeyHealth Family Birthplace, nothing brings us greater joy than welcoming a new baby into the world.

We are excited to have opened our brand new facility in July 2017 and families who have delivered here are turning out rave reviews.

At right, Oak Harbor residents, Thomas and Betsy Griffith, hold fraternal twins, Lillian and Liam Griffith, who were the first babies to be born in 2018 at the new WhidbeyHealth Family Birthplace.

The twins arrived at 8:18 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 3. Dr. Melissa Chinn delivered, as she had the couple's first child almost three years ago in the former birthplace. Mom Betsy was very pleased with the whole experience.

"The birthplace was nice before but it's just lovely and really really nice now and the staff is wonderful and Dr. Chinn is amazing," Betsy Griffith said.

"The atmosphere is just amazing. It's bright, it's cheerful and it makes you happy to be here.
The patients love it. And when you have a good combination like that it makes a difference."

"She's doing some really cutting-edge things specific to my care and has really made a big difference for me in terms of my recovery time. Also, delivering two babies at once is really hard and the staff just made me so comfortable and made it that much easier for me," Griffith added.
