Free child car seat safety checks are available for parents at Oak Harbor Fire Station Whidbey Island any time between 3 to 5 p.m. on the first Tuesday of January, March, May, July, September and November.

Free Child’s Car Seat Safety Checks


Who: For any caregiver transporting children in vehicles

What: Children’s Seat Safety Check by Nationally Certified Child Passenger Technician

When: First Tuesday of January, March, May, July, September and November between 3 and 5 p.m.; 30-45″ per seat/child

Where: Oak Harbor Fire Station at 855 E. Whidbey Ave.

Why: Nationally only 1 in 4 child car seats are correctly installed. Accidents are the leading cause of death in children aged 1-14.
