Michael Unruh, MA, LMHC, LCPC, CSAT, CPATP, has deep roots on Whidbey Island, where he has spent more than 21 years serving and connecting with the community. His experience includes working as a nurse in the WhidbeyHealth Emergency Department and supporting youth throughout the island through the nonprofit organization Youth Dynamics.

Michael met his wife while attending graduate school in Seattle, and the couple welcomed their four children at WhidbeyHealth. For Michael, Whidbey Island has always been more than a place to live—it is a community where he has found purpose, built meaningful relationships and raised his family. After spending 15 years in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, he is grateful to have recently returned home to Whidbey and looks forward to supporting individuals through compassionate, meaningful therapy.

Outside of work, Michael enjoys jazz, hiking around Whidbey Island, gardening and spending time with his many pets.
