When Dr. Amir Mehrvarz Sarshekeh was in medical school, his mother was diagnosed with incurable cancer. The loss of her profoundly inspired him to treat and fight for cancer patients. That experience has certainly added a different layer to his interactions with patients, and he believes that has prepared him well to care for his patients. When he meets with patients, he wants to know who they are and what values are most important to them. Cancer treatment has to be individualized and unique for each patient.
