Service Overview

When life’s minor illnesses and injuries require medical attention, WhidbeyHealth Walk-In Care locations are close by to provide local access to quality care for those unexpected stomach bugs, sprains, fractures, cold and flu symptoms, and other non-emergency conditions.

Our Walk-In Care locations in Clinton and Oak Harbor are open to island residents and visitors 6 days a week, without an appointment. Our newest location in Coupeville is open Thursday-Saturday at this time.

Walk-In Clinic or Emergency Room?

Choosing between Walk-In or Emergency Care should be based on severity of the health problem. Walk-in Care is the perfect solution for most non-emergency situations – the type of condition that you might go to your regular doctor, but it’s after hours or they aren’t close by.

  • Walk-In Care

When something happens outside of normal business hours or if someone you know just needs to be seen but does not have a provider here on the island, you can take advantage of the convenience and affordability the Walk-In Clinic provides.

Situations can include any of the following conditions:

    • Back pain
    • Nausea, vomiting and diarrhea
    • Minor headaches
    • Bumps, cuts, and scrapes
    • Fever, cold, or flu symptoms
    • Ear or sinus pain
    • Cough or sore throat
    • Animal bites
    • Sprains, strains or suspected fractures
    • Mild asthma
    • Foreign objects in the eyes or nose
    • Allergies
    • Minor Rashes and burns
    • Burning with urination
    • Eye irritation, swelling or pain
  • Emergency Room

If you have a true emergency, call 9-1-1 or go straight to your nearest ER.

The Emergency Room is for critical, life-threatening conditions that can’t wait. Some examples requiring immediate care would include:

    • Chest pain
    • Difficulty breathing
    • Stroke
    • Head trauma
    • Severe bleeding
    • Serious trauma, compound fractures
    • Loss of vision
    • Loss of consciousness, unresponsive
    • Diabetic coma
    • Animal bites especially if rabies is suspected
