Following his residency in internal medicine, Dr. Fisher served at the Naval Hospital in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where he held a number of positions, including department head of Ambulatory Care and chair of both the Pharmacy & Therapeutics and Infection Control Committees.
After three years, he moved on to the Naval Hospital in Yokusuka, Japan, where he was the department head of Internal Medicine, director of Quality Management, president of the medical staff and an instructor for the Japanese intern training program. Dr. Fisher then moved to the Naval Hospital in Oak Harbor, WA, where he served as the sole internist and the senior medical executive.
For his service, he received two Navy Commendation Medals and a Navy Achievement Medal. He retired from the military in 2010 and began private practice in Coupeville, WA.
