A northeast coast native, Family Nurse Practitioner Amy Walchenbach moved to Whidbey Island for a change of pace and new life adventures. She provides her patients and their families with a listening ear and the education needed to understand how to manage acute or chronic diseases. Amy understands the complexities of the healthcare system and helps patients navigate their personal journey.

She focuses on health promotion, wellness, and the education of her patients as a whole. She addresses health care needs by including her patient’s personal, cultural, or ethnic differences and adjusts care plans considering the degree of patient and family participation. Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Amy spent time as a US Army nurse and served in Desert Storm.

In her free time, Amy enjoys being physically active – on land and sea! You can find her spending time with her two adult daughters and her old dog.
