WhidbeyHealth Standard Charges

In an effort to improve price transparency, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requires all hospitals in the U.S. to publicly post an online list of standard hospital charges (chargemaster). The chargemaster lists the gross price set for individual services as well as information specific to insurance contracts/benefits and self-pay discounts. This information is provided to allow patients to compare pricing across different hospitals.

A good faith effort has been made to ensure the data in the price transparency file is true, accurate and complete.

Additional Information

Price Estimate Disclaimer

For your convenience, we offer estimated prices for bundled services. Actual costs may vary based on your specific care needs, provider participation, and insurance status.

  • Insured patients: Please verify your anticipated out-of-pocket costs by contacting your health plan.
  • Self-pay patients: Confirm your final price before scheduling.

These estimates are provided in compliance with federal hospital and insurer transparency rules – the CMS Hospital Price Transparency Final Rule (effective 2021) and the Transparency in Coverage Rule (effective 2022) – which require public disclosure of standard charges, insurer-negotiated rates, and cash prices for shoppable services. Researchers highlight wide price variation and undercompliance, reinforcing the importance of patients verifying estimates with providers and payers. cms.gov
